Reporting And Frequency Cycle Three: Glacier Breaks Off of Greenland

1. Newspaper
BBC News' Jason Palmer gives an article on July 19, 2012 about whether the glacier that broke off of Greenland is a serious matter. The pattern of the calving of glaciers has been something long watched by scientists. The detachment of the Petermann Glacier is not surprising for them, as it is most likely a result of global warming.
Update 1: There are no updates on this story yet, it still gives us all the same information as before but what I do notice is that they put in a few more pictures of the glacier.

2. TV Broadcast
Brian Wilson reports for NBC and gives us the basic information about the glacier breaking off. It is a very short story and does not go into very much detail about he subject.
Update 1: There are no new updates for this story. There is only that one broadcast about the Peterman. Glacier.

3. Blog
Discover Magazine's Phil Plait gave us a blog post giving us details on the ice burg. This event has happened before in 2010, and that chunk of ice was massive, twice the size of Manhattan Island of New York City. This more recent glacier is half that size, but don't kid yourself, that is still huge. Plait says they cannot be sure on whether this event happened to global warming, since glacier calving happens all the time, but it looks like the culprit. There are some tell-tale signs that it is; June 2012 was one of the hottest months since records have been kept. In addition it had the highest land and ocean average surface temperatures in the northern hemisphere in recorded history. All this information looks mighty suspicious, and seems like we can blame the warming of the earth.
Update 1: There are also no updates on the blog. The only thing being updated on the page are the comments people are leaving behind.

4. Social Media
Plenty of bloggers on Tumblr are posting about the glacier. There are a lot of pictures of the ice burg that were taken from the NASA satellite, as well as information about global warming. There are also non related pictures of Greenland, still pretty to look at though.
Update 1: People are still posting pictures and the news story on their blogs. One post has 32 reblogs, which is the highest out of all the posts so far.
